Wooden Egg+Cup and Peg+Cup - Montessori Baby and Toddler Toys

Regular price $15.00
These Montessori-inspired toys can be introduced at around 8 or 9 months of age and make the perfect first puzzle. The pieces are just the right size for little hands to grasp and are made from non-toxic, natural materials so they are safe in case your baby puts them in his or her mouth.

You will be amazed at how much focus and concentration your infant will exhibit when playing with these simple toys. By putting the pieces together and taking them apart again, your little one will be practicing their fine-motor skills and developing their hands and wrists along with working on hand-eye coordination. There is no right or wrong way to play with these pieces. Your child might enjoy just tapping the pieces together or against other toys to see what kind of noises they make, or might spend time balancing the egg on the cup and then standing the egg on the floor and then back in the cup again. As your child grows, the peg might become a little person and, of course, the egg makes the perfect addition to any play kitchen.

You will receive two puzzle sets: the Peg and Cup and the Egg and Cup. The peg and cup together measure 2-3/4 inches (7 cm) and the egg and cup together measure 4 inches (10.2 cm). Each set is made from high-quality North American hardwood and finished with jojoba oil to create a buttery-smooth, splinter-free surface that is free of toxins, which means that you don’t have to worry if your child decides to see how they taste!

- Made with high-quality hardwoods that are naturally antibacterial and resistant to splintering
- Natural and non-toxic materials mean they are safe to chew on
- Wonderful alternative to plastic toys
- Encourages fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and hand and wrist development
- Peg and cup measure 2-3/4 inches (7 cm)
- Egg and cup measure 4 inches (10.2 cm)

Wash with warm soapy water when needed, avoid the dishwasher and don’t leave outside or take in the bathtub. If the surface becomes rough over time, lightly hand sand with fine-grit sandpaper and rub with jojoba or olive oil to restore smoothness and protect the wood. If taken care of properly, these toys will last through many kids and can be passed down from sibling to sibling or generation to generation.
